François Maillet has a great blog post about how he built a system to detect when his favorite hockey team scored a goal and flash the lights in his home in celebration. What makes the project so interesting is that he analyzed the audio from hockey games and used machine learning to build a classifier that detects when an announcer and siren signal a goal. You can see Python code and more details about the signal processing and machine learning in the blog post. Great work!
