FREE PIXEL, designed by Carlo Ratti Associati for Artemide, explores a future where LED emitters can work as single, liberated units. Fueled by a unique power-supplying magnetic support, they can be moved by humans or by a robotic arm to create infinite patterns with light. Similar to pixels freed from the displays, they can transform the environment around us in new ways – a source of illumination and information.
