With time, patience, and plenty of materials, you can make almost anything come to life with a 3D printer. Scott Winterrigner, also known as Tom Neverwinter on DeviantArt, is using a 3D printer to create a set of Iron Man armor. He’s basically channeling his inner Tony Stark. He’s worked on pieces for both Mark 42 and Mark 43 armor and has been refining the process over time. He’s printing the sections in gold and smoothing/sanding them before painting them red. He’s added electronics too – both the hand repulsor and arc reactor are lit with blue LEDs. The chest plate, the back plate, and arm pieces are done so far. Some photos of his progress:
