Animatronic Medusa Head

animatronic medusa head 1

Franz Harary is an illusionist, a consultant, and a designer. And a maker! He created an incredible animatronic Medusa head for Jolin Tsai’s world tour. The dozen or so snakes are fitted to a headpiece that reminds me of Maleficent’s horns. Rather than being covered with a flexible fabric, it looks like they all have rubber, textured skin and glowing LED eyes. The headpiece is massive, and the snakes seem to move independently of each other. There are a couple more photos of the Medusa snakes below, but you can watch a video on Harary’s Facebook page to see the snakes in action.

Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.
