Check out Ben’s amazing cat-tronic project to turn feeding his cat into a game of hide and seek. By embedding small NFC tags into plastic balls Ben is able to train his cat to ‘hunt’ for the balls around his home and return them to a feeder. When the feeder detects the ball is nearby it dispenses food and rewards the cat for finding the ball. The project is built with Adafruit’s PN532 NFC reader and an Arduino connected to an automatic feeder. Check out Ben’s blog post for all the details on the project–awesome work!
Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.
