The worlds of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra offer a number of options for low budget cosplayers. Though there are plenty of complex looks to choose from for more challenging cosplay (like Suki’s armor), some of the characters essentially wear elaborate robes and pajamas. Both Aang and Korra have straightforward fabric costumes — the kind that can be sewn from scratch but can also be modified from existing clothes. Case in point: Redditor sensefrau assembled an on-point version of Korra’s costume from Season 4 from two old men’s shirts and fabric scraps. The whole look cost her less than 20€/$22.
