De Blasio to Announce 10-Year Deadline to Offer Computer Science to All Students – The New York Times.

Computer science for all. Mayor Bill de Blasio of New York announces today that in 10 years all of the city’s public schools will be required to offer computer science to all students, as is already the case in San Francisco and Chicago. Nationally, about one-quarter of schools offer computer programming courses, according to data from Google and Gallup.
