Cosplayer Masazi recently attended a gaming convention in Tokyo and dressed as Raiden from Metal Gear Solid. The costume is incredibly detailed and accurate to the game. The black part of the suit is made from three kinds of leather fabric with varying levels of gloss. The clear, armored parts were made from plastic and PET resin. The ensemble features LEDs and movable parts — the visor of the helmet raises, lowers, and retracts. She spent about $500 on the materials and poured three months into crafting it. Kai-You interviewed Masazi about the costume; it’s in Japanese but Google translates it enough for the highlights.
