After you’ve made a gown that looks like the Death Star, making a dress that looks like a droid must be cake. Cosplayer and designer Lady Death Star’s recent project was focused on BB-8. The astromech from the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens film is already popular and beloved by fans. His soccer ball-esque design is memorable, and Lady Death Star applied the pattern to a skirt. She debuted her fashionable BB-8 at Edmonton Expo on the last weekend in September.
The coolest part of the costume? The helmet is motorized. She made the base of the helmet from Worbla and added a Tamiya motor to make the head spin. She painted over the Worbla to add BB-8’s pattern. See a few work in progress photos below and flip through additional images on Facebook.
