Tampon Run: The world’s only tampon video game made by teenage girls #WomenInSTEM #GirlsWhoCode
Tampon Run is a game created by High Schools Andy and Sophie through the Girls Who Code program. Fast Co wrote a piece on the creators of the game here if you are interested in more information! (Thanks to Kris for sending in this blog tip!)
Andrea Gonzales and Sophie Houser are high school students in NYC. We met this summer at Girls Who Code (@ IAC), an organization trying to close the gender gap in tech, where we cultivated our love of coding. This is our final project for the program.
This winter we worked with Pivotal Labs to create a new and improved iOS version of Tampon Run. A big thank you to our Pivotal Labs team and to Drew Joy for composing the original sound and music! Also thank you Nihal Mehta, Reshma Saujani, Girls Who Code and Eniac Ventures for all your help and support!
Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, or even use Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for MakeCode, CircuitPython, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
