Looking at how cosplayers make armor never gets boring to me. DeviantArt user DevilxLady made a set of Dovahkiin armor for a Skyrim costume and shared a photo showing the finishing steps. She started with plain foam and built up layers and embossing with it, then she added a shiny silver spray paint as the base layer. She finished the metallic look by adding shadows and highlights with oil paint. The finished product is gorgeous.
