Courtney Brown’s Sculpture, Self Organization #ArtTuesday

NewImage

Super cool sculpture by Courtney Brown. From Lost at E Minor:

In his sculpture entitled ‘Self Organization’, artist Courtney Brown brings new life to an old typewriter by giving it a hand, or eight for that matter.

For the California Sculpture SLAM at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art, the Oakland-based artist attached bronze tentacles to a 1938 Underwood typewriter, turning it into a lean mean novel-writing machine. It eventually won first place at the competition, beating out other contemporary sculptures.
