‘Goodnight Lamp’ Prompts Reflection at Bedtime #IoT

One of my students at SVA’s Products of Design program made an internet connected lamp that won’t turn off until you publish a “gratitude jounal” blog post. It uses a PIR motion sensor, Huzzah wifi module, a Power Switch Tail, IFTTT (Blogger module) and Adafruit IO. The lamp base also contains an inductive phone charger, further integrating itself into your bedtime routine. Learn how to build your own at Gahee Kang’s Instructable for the project.
