When cosplayers make Belle costumes from Beauty and the Beast, they usually opt for the yellow ballgown or the blue and white Provincial dress from the beginning of the film. A design I don’t often see is the pink gown with the accompanying cloak. Belle wears it during the “Something There” song. Cosplayer Ginny Di made the outfit last month. She drafted the cape by hand (she mentioned it should be easy to adapt the Simplicity 5840 pattern one though). She sewed the costume together as well. This is how she accomplished the ruffle trim at the bottom:
I just did the longest stitch my machine can do all across the top, and then pulled on one thread to gather it! Tedious but functional.
