DC Motor in Micro Servo Body

This tiny DC Motor in Micro Servo Body is an interesting motor – it’s the same size and shape as our micro servo but it isn’t a servo. It’s more like a DC motor + plastic gear-train in a box. It’s not a super powerful motor, it would do well as a little robot wheel. It’s also a lot less expensive than a micro servo (continuous or non-continuous) because there is no control board inside. Controlling speed is done by PWM’ing the power leads, controlling direction is done by swapping the power polarity – just like any brushed DC motor.

Runs from 4-6VDC, we’ve powered it with a Lipoly and 3 alkaline, or 4 NiMH batteries with success. You cannot control this directly from a microcontroller pin! You must have a H-bridge such as a L293D, TB6612 or a Motor shield, Motor HAT or DC Motor + Stepper FeatherWing.

Motor comes with 2x screws and 2x nuts for mounting to a chassis. No flanges or horns includedit’s intended to mate with our little wheels, there’s a screw to attach once they’re plugged together. Build a robot vehicle of your own with these little motors driving it!

Supporting Swivel Caster Wheel – 1.3″ Diameter

When your little robot needs someone to lean on, it can lean on this support wheel. Perfect for use with 2-wheeled robots that need a third-point of support, this Support Wheel comes attached to a mounting plate and with 4x screws and 4x nuts for fastening to any robot or project. It can rotate a full 360° on the plate and the sleek black metal look suits any robot.

Anodized Aluminum Metal Chasis for a Mini Robot Rover

OK the name is a little…utilitarian? But this Anodized Aluminum Metal Chasis for a Mini Robot Rover does exactly what it says. You can build a very sturdy (and quite handsome!) little robot rover with this metal frame.

  • It’s made of aluminum so it’s light and strong
  • The anodizing is quite lovely to boot
  • Can be used to build a 2-wheel or 4-wheel robot
  • Tons of mounting holes & slots!
  • Easy to modify because you can drill and cut aluminum
  • Wont crack or break if it falls down the stairs (it happens)

Remember, this is just the metal frame chassis! Motors, wheels, motor driver, microcontroller, etc are not included! It’s specifically designed to use either our Micro Continuous Rotation Servo or DC Motor in Micro Servo Body. You’ll need to grab either 2 or 4 of those. You will also want 2 or 4 wheels, they snap onto the motors so you can scoot around. If you have a two-wheel’er, also grab a supporting swivel wheel. Finally, you can add a cute little topper if you like. Then, any microcontroller and motor/servo driver can be used to build up your robot.
