NEW PRODUCT – Hakko FX-600 50-Watt Adjustable Soldering Iron

NewImage

Upgrade your RatShack fire-starter iron to this luxurious portable soldering iron. It’s durable, with a strong grounded cord, a nice handle and fast heat up. When you don’t need a full soldering ‘station’ this pen type iron will fulfill your needs. At 50W it can handle any task you throw at it, and the lovely adjustable knob on the side lets you set the temperature so you get just the right temperature for your lead or lead free solder. Once it is cooled off, you can easily coil it up and toss it into your workbox to keep your desk top clear.

This iron is an adjustable 50W iron with a temperature range from 200-500°C, For most lead free soldering, try 400°C. For lead-based solder, 350°C will do. Adjust as necessary! It’s not as powerful as the full stand-up Hakko but makes up for it with its ease of use and portability.

With proper care this iron will last for many years. Turn it off when not in use, clean the plated tip with a sponge (no filing or sanding!) The screwdriver tip is perfect for through-hole soldering and can also do some larger surface mount. If you need to do finer pitch or larger part work, you can easily swap the tip!

One of our favorite parts about this soldering iron is that you can unscrew the metal sleeve from the base of the soldering and insert a new Hakko-compatible tip. We carry a bunch here that work well with this iron and installation is super easy.

Plug is 110 US-style and can only be used in 110V countries. Comes with a very simple flip-up stand which is only marginally useful. Unless you are very careful, a ‘real’ soldering stand is suggested.

Note: Shipping weight reflects UPS’ new dimensional weight regulations.
