In order to celebrate the end of warranty for the Canon Legria R46 that I use for shooting this channel, I take it apart and install a rear facing microphone to it. Be warned, it’s a very rambly, blog-style video, and I do NOT take the camera completely to bits.
I hope this is going to bring a big step up in the audio quality of this channel for the upcoming year. I also bought a really cheap Canon IXUS 165 for doing dual camera work, so we’re really getting fancy around here.
The jist of the procedure performed is that I take the camera apart, circumcise an Audyssey measurement microphone and hot-glue it to the top of the camera.
