Feather LoRa and RFM69 module testing @stilldavid

Radios!

David Stillman (KI6YMZ) is helping us do some range tests on the Feather LoRa and RFM69 modules in different frequencies and antennas:

Just wanted to send along this pic of the feathers, ready for testing. I ran out of time this weekend to get out and do the actual range tests, but the test jigs are built and the modules are all programmed. For the initial “basic antenna” test I made a handful of 1/4 wave ground plane antennas out of some SMA connectors – initial tests around the block seem great, with almost no packet loss at 500m! I will find a nice flat spot to drive around after my Real Job some day this week, and bring along the yagis as well.

Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.
