Scale mail (or scale maille) bras don’t have to be heavy, uncomfortable affairs. La Forja de Moguri has shared a tutorial showing how you can transform an everyday bra (it would probably be a good idea to buy a cheap one) into what looks like a metallic bikini top. The trick? Lots of tiny scales. You could make them from EVA or craft foam — the material just needs to have a little flexibility so it can curve when it’s layered. Then, you attach the scales in layers to the bra cups before applying black acrylic paint all over. You can see a couple in progress pictures below.
