In 2029, Gamerstorm Industries has made a fortune after an oil crisis by building Station Eco-Fuel, an automated Mars based facility to export Deuterium-3 to fuel fusion reactors on planet Earth. Bill Owen, the astronaut who maintains operations at Eco-Fuel Station, nears the end of a twelve-year work contract as the facility’s sole resident. He oversees automated harvesters and launches canisters bound for Earth containing the extracted Deuterium-3. Chronic communication problems have disabled his live feed from Earth and limit him to occasional recorded messages to his wife, Olivia. His only companion is a desktop PC with artificial intelligence named MNPC1, who assists with the base’s automation and provides comfort for him. MNPC1 has been modified with armored panels, larger air vents and separate cooling loop for the GPU. (read more)
