This talk starts of with how to prepare a Raspberry Pi with JDK8 for ARM processors with OpenJDK Device I/O (DIO) compiled from source to create a credit-card sized computer fast enough to process sensor data. When figured this ‘thing’ could be both ‘connected’ to the internets and ‘mobile’ while being powered by an emergency phone charger it offered a great starting point for many mobile connected devices. However, I decided to pursue a childhood dream of mine: building my very own robot.
