This was created for the Ultimaker Gumball Challenge to be featured at the Bay Area Maker Faire 2016.


Materials and methods

For the competition, we printed the files using PLA and the Ultimaker 2. We used Cura and the following settings:


– Layer Height : 0.15

– Bottom/Top thickness (mm): 0.8


-Bottom layer speed (mm/s): 10

We printed over 100 of these in several days and we learned that the bottom layer speed is crucial for success in bed adhesion. Depending on the quality of the PLA we were using, we also needed to use glue or blue painters tape to keep the model from printing.
