For the LED enthusiast
Trinket-Powered NeoPixel Goggle Kit Pack: One of the most popular Trinket projects now has its own kit pack! Make your very own programmable NeoPixel goggles with 2 x 16 LED rings and an Adafruit Trinket. It even comes with a rechargeable LiPoly battery and charger. It’s a great easy build and when you’re done you’ll have the coolest accessory. Read more.
NeoPixel Rings: Round and round and round they go – smart LED NeoPixels arranged in a circle!
All of our rings are ‘chainable’ – connect the output pin of one to the input pin of another. Use only one microcontroller pin to control as many as you can chain together! Each LED is addressable as the driver chip is inside the LED. Each one has ~18mA constant current drive so the color will be very consistent even if the voltage varies, and no external choke resistors are required making the design slim. Power the whole thing with 5VDC (4-7V works) and you’re ready to rock. Read more.
NeoPixel FeatherWing – 4×8 RGB LED Add-on For All Feather Boards: A Feather board without ambition is a Feather board without FeatherWings! This is the NeoPixel FeatherWing, a 4×8 RGB LED Add-on For All Feather Boards! Using our Feather Stacking Headers or Feather Female Headers you can connect a FeatherWing on top or bottom of your Feather board and make your Feather board strut like a peacock at a rave. For the Grad Who Needs Tools
Ladyada’s Electronics Toolkit: Starting out on your electronics adventure?
Want to wield the mighty soldering iron?
Tired of saying “I’d totally get into electronics if I only knew what tools to get…”?
Working with substandard equipment is a terrible way to learn electronics: a lot of frustration with too little success. The right tool set will keep you progressing without the stressing.
This toolbox contains carefully selected hand tools that will last you for many many years. Read more.
Digital Genuine Hakko FX-888D (936 upgrade) – FX-888D: Known by engineers for making excellent quality tools & soldering irons! This is a genuine Hakko FX-888D with digital temperature control! We worked hard to get the best and a great price, these are not knock-offs. This iron is an upgrade to the venerable Hakko 936 – smaller footprint but more powerful for a faster heat up time. Read more.
Extech EX330 12-function autoranging multimeter – EX330: If you’re looking for one of the best multimeters, we’re proud to now offer our personal favorite! The Extech EX330 “12 Function Mini MultiMeter + Non-Contact Voltage Detector. Autoranging DMM with NCV detector and Temperature function”. This product is the winner of EEVBlog Multimeter Shootout (Extech press release) & Dave’s site here and on top of that, its been our daily-use multimeter for over 3 years. It’s compact, has auto-off, tons of features and a temperature probe for checking thermal properties, soldering iron calibration and perhaps even a DIY reflow control. Read more.
Hot Air Soldering Rework Station w/ Three Nozzles – Quick 957D: If you’ve ever made a mistake when surface-mount soldering, you’ll know how much of a pain it can be to fix it without the right tools. It can add critical time to a project and can seriously dampen your soldering momentum if you run into a bad component or a faulty reflow. With the Quick 957D Soldering Station, you can easily rework your boards and get your project back on track. Its also possible to use solder paste (in a syringe for example) to apply paste and then blow hot air over it to melt the solder and get the components into place. Read more.
For the Future Roboticist
Mini Pan-Tilt Kit – Assembled with Micro Servos: This fully-assembled pan-tilt kit is the perfect way to give your project full range motion with two micro servos. The pan-tilt can rotate roughly 180° from side-to-side and can tilt up&downwards around 150°. It also comes fully assembled with two Micro Servos (SG-90 or SG-92 type) included and a 38mm x 36mm space to mount a camera or sensor or whatever you like. Read more.
OWI Robotic Arm Edge – Robot arm – OWI-535: Riding the wings of the award winning Robotic Arm Trainer, OWI has made robotic arm technology more affordable without compromising quality. With Robotic Arm Edge, command the gripper to open and close, wrist motion of 120 degrees, an extensive elbow range of 300 degrees, base rotation of 270 degrees, base motion of 180 degrees, vertical reach of 15 inches, horizontal reach of 12.6 inches, and lifting capacity of 100g. This is a pretty complicated arm to build, but we’re happy with the quality and the arm. Many hackers and makers have used it with our Adafruit Motorshield. CHOKING HAZARD — Small parts. Not for children. We only suggest this product for adults and/or kids with adult supervision. Read more.
Adafruit 16-Channel 12-bit PWM/Servo Shield – I2C interface: You want to make a cool Arduino robot, maybe a hexapod walker, or maybe just a piece of art with a lot of moving parts. Or maybe you want to drive a lot of LEDs with precise PWM output. Then you realize that the Arduino has only a few PWM outputs, and maybe those outputs are conflicting with another shield! What now? You could give up OR you could just get our handy PWM and Servo driver shield. It’s just like our popular PWM/Servo Breakout but now Arduino-ready and works with any Arduino that uses shields: Uno, Leo, Mega, ADK, its all good. Read more.
