I used an Arduino mini Pro (3.3V – 8MHz) from sparkfun and interfaced with Adafruit’s Neopixel Ring LEDs. A lithium ion battery (3.7V) was used for power supply. Everything was placed inside the cap.

NeoPixel Ring – 24 x 5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers: Round and round and round they go! The rings are ‘chainable’ – connect the output pin of one to the input pin of another. Use only one microcontroller pin to control as many as you can chain together!
