Whether it’s for electronics/crafts tutorials, or selling on eBay, Etsy, etc., shooting overhead video and pics can be a pain, until now!
Tripods get in the way, boom arms are either unstable or expensive. For many years I struggled with shooting video or pictures from an overhead view point. This week, I finally decided to do something about it.
With just a few pieces of extruded aluminum, some plastic brackets, an aluminum bar, and a commercial camera mount for car windows, I was able to successfully put an end to my struggle. The extruded aluminum and plastic brackets are Opensource Hardware from Openbeam. This means you could easily 3D print or mill accessories to further customize your own rig.

Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound.
