Perl – Yes, Perl! – ‘Tricks for System Administrators’ via @opensourceway #SysAdminDay

Red Hat-supported opensource.com have a quick collection of small snippets of Perl code that might be useful for system administators – aka sysadmins, you know who you are! Their examples include:

  • Renaming a bunch of files
  • Creating a Linux user account
  • Change copyright text in every Perl source file in a directory tree

Did you know that Perl is a great programming language for system administrators? Perl is platform-independent so you can do things on different operating systems without rewriting your scripts.
