SeaCharger aims to be the first unmanned surface vehicle (USV) to cross an ocean on solar power alone. #Solar
Their goal was to have the Seacharger be the first USV to cross an ocean on solar power alone, and they accomplished it! Thanks for sending this blog tip in Terry! Via Seacharger
7/22/2016: All done! Seacharger arrived at Mahukona Harbor this evening. There were a few hiccups with the boat not wanting to let me take over with the R/C transmitter and manually steer it in, so those of you watching the tracking map will have seen it going back and forth a bit. In the end, I just aimed it right into the harbor and my wife jumped in with flippers and a snorkel to save it from the rocks and steer it the last few yards to where my brother and I pulled it out of the water.
I’ll post some pictures and stats over the next couple of days.
