NEW PRODUCT – Proto-Pasta – Aromatic Coffee 1.75mm HTPLA Filament – 0.5 KG

Have you ever wished that your 3D printing filament smelled like freshly brewed coffee? If the answer is yes, then boy howdy are you in luck! Go ahead and scratch your computer screen to test the scent of this quality roast!

With print ease similar to standard PLA, you can’t go wrong with this high performance Proto-Pasta “Heat Treatable” HTPLA Aromatic Coffee filament! More durable than standard PLA, HTPLA can also be “heat treated” post-print for “higher temperature” performance than standard PLA, ABS, and Polyesters like PET. It might not be made from World’s Best Coffee, but it might be World’s Best Filament!

This otherwise odorless plastic releases an invigorating roast coffee scent when heated (as much as you may be tempted, do NOT consume the filament). Beyond this novel feature, the color is a beautiful pearlescent, translucent bronze when printed. The color turns opaque when heat treated for a more wood-like finish.

Aromatic Coffee HTPLA has a potential Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) of as much as 140C (285F) depending on post-processing. This means parts retain more stiffness and form to higher temperatures. No warping when left out in the sun!

We recommend printing this material at 190C-230C. No heated bed is required but may improve printing some geometry. Temperature resistance of up to 140C is achieved by annealing after printing in an oven at 60C-110C.

Just try it, and you’ll understand why printing should smell good!

This is 1.75mm filament and is made in the USA by Proto-Pasta. Check out the Proto-Pasta site here for more information!

NEW PRODUCT – PLA Filament for 3D Printers – 1.75mm Diameter – Cool Gray – 1KG

Having a 3D printer without filament is sort of like having a regular printer without paper or ink. And while a lot of printers come with some filament there’s a good chance you’ve been printing up a storm and need something new. That’s why we’ve started carrying a complete line of 3D printing filament in a variety of colors!

This PLA 1.75mm Cool Gray 1 KG spool is a great basic material for 3D printers. 1.75MM diameter, PLA filament works best with PrintrBot Simples but great for nearly any 3D printer.

It’s always a good idea to check what diameter and filament type your printers can handle before purchasing!

PLA is bioplastic so its made from renewable natural resources. It’s biodegradable in commerical compost facilities so you can feel good and green about whatever you’re printing. There’s less warping when printing with PLA and it works best when extruded between 160°C and 220°C.

For those of you who want more information on the different types of 3D printing material, there’s a great tutorial on our Learn System!

Why this filament over all the other options? We sampled filaments from dozens of trusted 3D filament suppliers and tested them on our fleet of 3D printers. Several options worked well enough, but we found that this range of plastics were the most consistently reliable in terms of printing and spooling. The materials they offer are high-grade and rarely clog!
