Handmade Alien Queen Costume

alien queen cosplay 1

Giulietta, a.k.a. Beau Peep Cosplay, was inspired by Alien and the upcoming appearance of Sigourney Weaver at a local convention and decided to make Alien-esque armor. She based her design on the Alien Queen. Incredibly, she only took three weeks to design and craft the costume. She would have preferred to make it more human and less creature, but I think what she did works well. Giulietta used Worbla and EVA foam floor mats to make the entire ensemble by hand.

The construction features several small pieces carefully fit together. See a couple of pictures below.

Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.
