This thing is a small electronic art object, based on a kit by Boldport, and created for a short music video:
You can watch that video (perhaps slowed down 🙂 for full assembly details. The 3D printed case is the width and height of a standard credit card, but thick enough to hold a CR2032 coin cell. The kit’s circuit board snaps into the center, and the case also provides a piezo disc button that generates a pulse which charges the capacitor and FET gate, letting the LED glow for a while.
