Did some tinkering tonight. Used a remote controlled power outlet to make a security light. Wired up the raspberry pi to transmit the proper code to turn the outlet on and off when motion is detected by a simple pir sensor. Then had some more fun and created a web page that displays the times when motion was detected. That is also running on a server that is on the same raspberry pi.
