So maybe it’s not “back to school” season any more – but here at Adafruit, we like to think that it’s always a good time to learn something new, which we guess means that everywhere we go is a proverbial school that we’re perpetually going back to.
To celebrate the continual season, we partnered with our good friends at Arrow Electronics to release custom packs of goodies called Arrow Presents: Back to School with LadyAda. Three packs are available for users with varying degrees of experience in electronics.
For beginners, there’s the Arduino Solder Free Pack. If you don’t know how to solder, the world of Arduino can be an intimidating one. This pack is designed to be solder-free, so even folks who don’t want to use a soldering iron, or aren’t ready to learn new soldering skills, can still pick up an Arduino and start to understand the code and complexities of single board computing.
For intermediate users, we offer the Learn to Solder Pack. Want to learn soldering but don’t know where to start? This pack is perfect for the maker who’s looking to learn how to solder or simply hone their skills. Each pack comes with essential soldering tools and kits, hand chosen by Ladyada, that will get you started on your soldering journey.
Finally, for advanced users there’s the Internet of Things Pack. For the student who’s mastered Arduino and soldering and is ready to take on more! This pack contains everything you need to get started in the world of the ‘Internet of Things.’ Centered around the Feather HUZZAH – our flagship IoT board based on the ESP8266 WiFi-enabled chip – this pack contains sensors, components, servos, and more.
We are angry, frustrated, and in pain because of the violence and murder of Black people by the police because of racism. We are in the fight AGAINST RACISM. George Floyd was murdered, his life stolen. The Adafruit teams have specific actions we’ve done, are doing, and will do together as a company and culture. We are asking the Adafruit community to get involved and share what you are doing. The Adafruit teams will not settle for a hash tag, a Tweet, or an icon change. We will work on real change, and that requires real action and real work together. That is what we will do each day, each month, each year – we will hold ourselves accountable and publish our collective efforts, partnerships, activism, donations, openly and publicly. Our blog and social media platforms will be utilized in actionable ways. Join us and the anti-racist efforts working to end police brutality, reform the criminal justice system, and dismantle the many other forms of systemic racism at work in this country, read more @ adafruit.com/blacklivesmatter
