Design for Manufacturing Summit #17 is This Week in DUMBO, Brooklyn! @whitehouse @DFMForum @mfgday #MFGDay16
Happening the day before the official nationwide Manufacturing Day for 2016, the Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Summit bills itself as “a business development-focused evening conference bringing together product developers, industrial designers, engineers, makers and manufacturers for a more decentralized, leaner manufacturing ecosystem.” Taking place from 3-9PM on Thursday, October 6th, down under the Manhattan Bridge overpass in Brooklyn, talks will include locally-sourced PCBs, automation, and robotics, among other industry topics & trends.
If you’re available last-minute to swing on by or simply want to track it online you can find more details here and here.
Here are a few videos from over the years that include teaser trailers and clips from the summits proper, which take place in several cities around the globe and give a wide view of the range of subjects and topics raised at DFM Summits.

Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
