Manufacturing day is all about giving manufacturers the opportunity to share their process with the world. MFGDAY has a forum where manufacturers can share their process (what works and what doesn’t) as well as their successes!
MFG DAY is a celebration of what 12 million people around the United States experience every day—pride at working in manufacturing. We invited event hosts to express some of this daily pride by contributing stories, photos, and videos that show how much manufacturing means to them.
Our Demonstration and Manufacturing Day Event started with a bit of rain, just like last year. We weren’t worried because we knew our friends and customers have been waiting for this day to arrive!
We all pitched in to get the Brat Fry Area set up, in charge of that was the Fond du lac Society of Model Railroad Hobby, then we worked with John to get the PFERD, Co. Van all set up for demonstrations and education in metal finishing! Rodger, our resident Master Blacksmith, worked on his area for demonstrations in blacksmithing! Rodger had 3 of his apprentices show up to demonstrate their talents in blacksmithing. Collin, Shaun and Connor sure love to be out there blacksmithing!!!!! They work from the heart!
We are so happy to see their talents getting better and better and to know that blacksmithing is NOT a dying art!!!!! Even though we are a small company, we are manufacturers, creating our beautiful iron art!! We had a great flow of customers all day long!!!! Watching, questioning and learning!!!! Our friend, Kelly, the Ferrier blacksmith, stopped in as well to demonstrate his talents with horse shoes!! We want to thank everyone for making our day a great one and we will be back again next year, so mark you calendar for the last Saturday in August, 2017!! Make sure you head out there and attend as many Manufacturing Day events that you can. We need to keep manufacturing alive in our great state of Wisconsin and also in the great United States of America!!!!! Become a part of it with your support!!!!
