Meredith is a multi-talented artist & maker. She’s worked with Otherlab, Disney Research, and was Artist-in-Residence at Autodesk for the 2014 term. I first encountered Meredith’s work in 2010 at Maker Faire with her North Star Skirt project. She’s equally analog – drawing, painting – and digital, with her 50 Digital Joints poster for CNC enthusiasts going viral.
Self-described in her own words:
Highly skilled, creative R&D badass and technical writer seeking remote or onsite position. Prototype engineer, problem solver, 3D printing explorer. Senior technician at Otherlab, Artist in Residence at Autodesk/PlanetLabs and EE concept engineer at Quirky.com. Writer, producer, and spokesperson for Pop-Mech and Radio Shack’s massive re-branding campaign ‘The Great Create’. Logistics manager for BurningMan’s 2013 centerpiece. Graphic design clientele include Facebook, PopularMechanics, and SFMoMA.

October 11th is Ada Lovelace Day! Today the world celebrates all of the accomplishments of women in science, art, design, technology, engineering, and math. Each year, Adafruit highlights a number of women who are pioneering their fields and inspiring women of all ages to make their voices heard. Today we will be sharing the stories of women that we think are modern day “Adas” alongside historical women that have made impacts in science and math.
Please promote and share #ALD16 with your friends and family so we can promote and share with all of the world wide web!
