Good news for folks who’ve recently encountered trouble with this project: a new installer script greatly simplifies setting up the system, while addressing compatibility issues between Raspbian Jessie, the PiTFT touchscreen and Pygame library.
This was one of our earliest Raspberry Pi camera projects (that’s an original Model B in the photo above), but evolutionary changes to the operating system over time rendered it inoperable. Thanks to the detective work of users in the Adafruit and Raspberry Pi forums, it’s back in action now! Any Raspberry Pi with a camera connector is supported.
