In this simple upgrade project by Kerry D. Wong he opens up a HP 5350B microwave counter and quite easily replaces the included dim, yellow LEDs with some white ones which make the LCD text much, much easier to read. If you wanted to do something similar with one of your workbench appliances the solution may not be identical, but it shows that you never know what’s inside until you open it up and explore! The solution could be easier than you imagine.
Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.
