New Tutorial: Circuit Playground Fiber Optic Light

Check out the Circuit Playground Fiber Optic Light tutorial at the Adafruit Learning System.

This is a fun and easy project that combines the ever-fabulous Circuit Playground board with a 3d printed case to create an easy night light or costume accessory with animated lights.  No soldering required!

If you’ve been wanting to get into building things with Arduino and neopixels, this board is a really great starting point.

  • Mardi Gras Mask accessory
  • Top Hat Topper
  • Kid’s science fair volcano
  • Glowing puppet hair
  • Flower Bouquet Enhancer
  • Pot Holder
  • Night Light
  • Showgirl Headdress

You can also use end-glow light pipe to put glowing eyes or spots of color into hard-to-reach areas of your costume or project, without messing around with breakable wires.
