E-Home Recording Studio have a friendly, ‘essentials for beginners’ guide available online for designing and developing your own home recording studio. The guide is broken down into six chapters: the essentials, microphones, acoustic treatment, set up/layout, audio recording 101, and equipment. Each chapter contains multiple sub-sections, covering topics from MIDI to snake cables, even to the chair you sit in. Whether you’re already planning a home studio or even if you’re planning something completely different but built around a room in your home, you might want to glance at this guide. My experience suggests this is ultimately the type of thing you should just dive in and do – you can always add, improve, and upgrade along the way!
