Cosplay is all about layers and levels. There’s crafting the costume portion with fabrics or hard pieces like armor, there’s styling your hair or a wig just so, there’s getting the footwear right, then there’s adding props, and there’s applying makeup. Sometimes makeup is simple, other times it can include prosthetics or using different techniques to change the look of eyebrows or lips. YouTuber Iwasaka Miyuki has been cosplaying since 2009 and has developed a few makeup tricks in that time. She goes over them in the above video.
