When Beverly of Downen Creative Studios made her Snow White and the Huntsman Queen Ravenna costume, she decided to make faux feathers for the cape. She crafted them from fabric. She ended up making about 2,500 total feathers for the accessory. In the above video, she goes over how to cut and make them. The technique will likely save you money because real feathers can be expensive, but this method is time consuming between cutting the feathers out and painting them by hand. But, if you have the patience, the results are beautiful.
