Cosplayer Nebulaluben is already all over a costume of Peebee from the new game Mass Effect Andromeda. That meant making an Asari head to wear, and she documented the progress at her website. She sculpted the head on top of a female mannequin rather than doing a lifecast. She used clay similar to Monsterclay to get the base down. Then, it was time for the tentacles. She explains:
Once the base was prepared I started adding the back tentacles, that go over the nape. I did a basic preliminary shape, I tried it on and I used my loop tools to smooth them out and get the final shape. After putting them I felt they were too high so I ripped them off and put them in place. Because this is the process: shaping things, putting them in place, check it, fill where needed, smooth where needed and repeat till you get a satisfactory result.
