Redditor Ultimaker 2 completed a 3D printed bolt pistol from Warhammer 40K, and the finished product is impressive. You can get the model for the prop gun at My Mini Factory, from user Robert H. Abazyan. Ultimaker did a lot of cleaning to get the 3D printed gun in shape for painting. They explained:
As for the cleanup / prepwork, yes there was a ton. Printing was the easy part lol. everything had to be joined up and sanded, then bondo’d and smoothed, masked and painted. quite a bit of work. I ordered a mouse sander off of amazon so hopefully that will speed up my next build.
He painted most of the replica with spray paint and used a little airbrushing to add the black grime around the barrel.
Adafruit has had paid day off for voting for our team for years, if you need help getting that going for your organization, let us know – we can share how and why we did this as well as the good results. Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
