Adafruit has teamed up with Digi-Key and TE Connectivity to bring you the MyMiniRaceCar Project Pack! We created this special kit to let folks all around the world experience the excitement of electric car racing. Pick one up here and use #MyMiniRaceCar to show us all the cool modifications that you make to your car on social media. Learn how to set it all up here.

The MyMiniRaceCar Project Pack is a Feather Bluetooth LE mini robot rover – a perfect project for folks who are just getting started in the world of DIY electronics. It’s an excellent introduction to our wide world of robotics.

This project contains just about everything you need to make your very own Bluetooth controlled mini-robot, with the added bonus of a temperature & humidity sensor! You get a Feather Bluefruit LE (Arduino compatible microcontroller with Bluetooth LE radio), motor control wing, HTU21D-F temperature & humidity breakout board, three-layer round robot chassis, two motors, two wheels, a battery pack + 4 x AA batteries, a lithium ion battery, breadboard and a nifty pocket screwdriver!

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL! Make sure to join us on Wednesday, July 12th at 7:00 PM EST for a special edition of our weekly Show & Tell with TE’s Resident Engineer with Andretti Technologies, Judith Henzel where you can show off your car! Judith will also be joining us for Ask an Engineer that evening at 8 PM EST to talk about electric racing, sensors, engineering and more.

As the lead partner of Andretti Technologies, TE Connectivity has a rotational engineer program that puts one of TE’s automotive engineers inside the Andretti Autosport shop in Indianapolis, Indiana (USA). The resident engineer is responsible for advanced engineering expertise—finding new ways to improve the Andretti Team’s performance and co-creating and testing new TE products in the harsh environment of race cars.

Judith Henzel is the fourth TE resident engineer to work alongside the Andretti Formula E Team. Prior to assuming the role, Judith was a Project Manager for TE’s automotive business where she oversaw global technical infotainment projects for OEMs, working primarily with cable assemblies and connectors. Judith graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden after an internship with Lufthansa Technique piqued her interest in airport operations and automotive engineering.

Attracted to motorsport since she was a child, which she attributes to watching Formula 1 with her father, Judith has been fascinated by the sport for years. During her time as a student, she combined her passion for the sport with her engineering studies when she joined her university’s Formula Student program. Judith assumed roles as a team member and team leader on both the technical and commercial sides, working on the powertrain and fuel consumption, while also managing team sponsors and marketing plans.

With this assignment Judith rejoins the world of motorsport to co-create new technologies and advance innovation with Andretti Technologies. Judith’s current projects with Andretti Technologies include aluminum wire harnesses and sensors.
