Silhouette Cosplay has applied her skills to a variety of characters from the worlds of film and television, including Loki. She’s completed a couple of different versions of the the Marvel trickster’s costumes, including his ensemble from Thor: The Dark World. As with most of her costumes, she took several photos during the construction phase, and they show off the intense amount of work that went into crafting Loki’s threads.
She drafted the patterns for the soft parts of the costume, dyed fabric, cut it, and sewed the ensemble together. She crafted the armor by using paper templates to come up with the general shapes and then transferred them to foam. She carved details and embellishments into the foam before painting it to look metallic — you can see the evolution of the shoulder pauldron in the below photos.
