‘Ink is History’ – the Chemistry, Composition, Etymology, and Yes, History, of Ink

The Internet Archive have a fascinating book on file, The History of Ink from 1860 by Thaddeus Davids. The back of the book includes a number of plates showing various writing ‘specimens’ and font styles (before there were fonts as we know them today) throughout the ages. Very cool!
