Adafruit’s new GEMMA M0 wearable microcontroller comes with CircuitPython support fresh from the factory. Plug it into USB and use any text editor to open and edit the “.py” file…it’s just that simple, no IDE to install!
We’ll be updating most of our “classic” GEMMA guides on the Adafruit Learning System to provide example CircuitPython code for the new board along with the original Arduino sketches, and bringing the latter up-to-date where needed. GEMMA M0 can run either one.
With something like 160 GEMMA-related guides in the Adafruit Learning System, watch for updates in small batches. We’ll start off this week with a few NeoPixel-related projects:
GEMMA Hoop Earrings — GEMMA fits perfectly in the center of a NeoPixel ring for flashy hoop earrings or a charming pendant!
NeoPixel Ring Bangle Bracelet — Build a charming bracelet from four NeoPixel rings and GEMMA.
Superhero Power Plant — Planning an epic Iron Man costume for Halloween or Comic Con, or looking for that iconic piece that turns a plain t-shirt into Tony Stark? Look no further, for in this guide we’ll show you how to make your own electronic glowing reactor with a cool pulsing effect.
Mystical LED Halloween Hood — Create glowing eyes for your costume!
GEMMA 3D Printed Tree Topper — Use Autodesk’s 123D Design software and a 3D Printer to create a custom tree topper.
Watch for several CircuitPython-ified GEMMA guides each week!
