Add a Phono Horn to Your Crystal Radio (or Any Piezo Speaker Project!) for Audio Amplification
These crystal and piezo mini radios look fantastic, especially with the addition of the metallic-finish paper phono horns courtesy of Rob Ives’s website – download the horn and dock design here and add it to your own audio project!
Web site subscriber Josef from the Czech Republic sent through these pictures of his amazing project. He is working with his class to produce crystal sets – a simple radio. The sound output from the piezo speakers is low so to maximise audibility – and to make them look awesome – he has added the Phono Horn from the plans on this site.
Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.
