YouTuber ShealEum has recently uploaded a couple videos showing “DIANA, the skiing robot.” The human trailing DIANA appears tethered but not controlling the robot directly, instead making sure the ‘bot doesn’t go rogue down the slope. That said the operators all appear to know when the robot is going to come to a halt. I’ve never skied before myself, so this robot is already more accomplished than me.
Here’s the short video:
And a slightly longer video showing more skiing:
Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.
