Hey, here is my project that creates a web based TV and voice remote using the HUZZAH ESP8266 Feather that I thought you will be interested in. In addition to using a web page from your phone as a TV remote, the device integrates voice commands, allowing you to say things like “turn on the TV”, “turn the TV volume up”, “switch input to Roku” and a
bunch of other commands. It utilizes IFTTT.com to integrate the voice commands with the ESP8266 device. The specifics are outlined in the article.
